Electric Actuators

Electric Actuators

Electric actuators are available in several distinct configurations, each optimized for specific applications. The AC servo rod type actuators feature enhanced speed, acceleration, and vertical load capacity compared to DC models. These units utilize pulse input drivers and offer both incremental and absolute encoder options in 17- or 18-bit resolution.

The slider category includes multiple drive mechanisms: ball screw drive for precision positioning, belt drive for high-speed operation, and specialized variants like low-profile models and those with integrated guide rods. Clean room versions are available for controlled environments. The AC servo slider models deliver improved performance characteristics similar to their rod-type counterparts.

For specialized applications, battery-less absolute encoders eliminate the need for homing routines on power-up. This is achieved through an electro-mechanical design using orientation sensors paired with differently sized rotating wheels, avoiding the limitations of traditional battery-powered absolute encoders.

The miniature actuator line includes both rod and slide table configurations, maintaining consistent motors, drives and bodies across the family. These compact units weigh under 1.5 pounds. The LAT3 card motor represents the ultimate in miniaturization at just 9mm height, offering ±5 μm positioning repeatability at up to 500 cycles per minute.

Rotary actuators feature a rotating worktable mounted above the motor and drivetrain housing. Available in three motor/table sizes with basic and high torque options, these units offer rotation angles of 90°, 180°, 310/320°, or continuous rotation. Electric grippers round out the lineup with two-finger and three-finger models, including options for dust covers, low-profile fingers, and extended stroke lengths. The three-finger variant excels at handling round workpieces while providing adjustable gripping forces and integrated dimension measurement capabilities.
